April 2019 - Parental Rights Amendment Passes! Senate Concurrent Resolution 1 (SCR1) passed the Oklahoma House of Representatives by unanimous consent!

By: Inv. Jon Scott
As of April 3, 2019, The Oklahoma House of Representatives has passed the Parental Rights Amendment as introduced, which makes it the seventh state to pass a resolution for compelling Congress to add the Parental Rights Amendment to the states for ratification of laws.

On February 13, SCR 1 passed the Senate which makes this step of passing the House, the final victory for adoption by the State of Oklahoma.

This resolution shall urge U.S. Congress and especially Oklahoma's delegation, to support the proposed PRA thus, permitting the States to vote it in as part of the U.S. Constitution.

This proposed Amendment would provide the much needed assurance that "Liberty of parents to direct the upbringing, education, and care of their child is a fundamental right.", "prevent erosion of the enduring American tradition of treating parental rights as fundamental rights", and other protections of Parental Rights.  Certainly a great step in the right direction, but there is still much more to accomplish.
